I’ve often thought taking my Grandfather out for a beer at Claude and Annie’s would be interesting. He passed away in ‘82, just a few days after buying me a TI-99 for Christmas. He was fascinated at how a 13-year-old kid could just whip out a program that showed the time difference between him and my uncle in Japan so he knew when a good time to call would be. Unfortunately he couldn’t get his head around programming due to heavy meds at the time. As a gadget inventor himself, I think he’d be thrilled to see what we’ve come up with in the last 30 years … though he’d probably spend all his time reading every page of Wikipedia..
