A new article out today states that, according to Jon Anderson, he was not asked to rejoin Yes. This contradicts the one from two days ago, which stated that he was indeed asked but declined.
Okay, it’s an obvious joke, but I just had to take a crack at predicting what that interview sounded like:
Interviewer: So, Jon, can you clear up the rumors about whether you were asked to rejoin your old band?
Jon: Yes?
Interview: Yes, you can clarify, yes, you’re rejoining, or are you clarifying what band I’m asking about?
Jon: Yes, what band?
Interviewer: I’m asking about Yes.
Jon: No.
Interviewer: No, they didn’t ask you, or you’re not talking about Yes?
Jon: Oh, are you asking about Yes?
Interviewer: Yes.
Jon: So what’s the question again?
Interviewer: Were you asked to rejoin Yes?
Jon: No.
Interviewer: But would you ever go back to Yes?
Jon: No.
Interviewer: So that’s a no to Yes?
Jon: Well, unless Yes said yes first, in which case Yes.
Interviewer: Has anyone asked you about going back to Yes?
Jon: The Who.
Interviewer: That’s what I was asking: who?
Jon: That’s what I said, The Who.
Interviewer: So, wait, Pete Townsened asked about rejoining Yes?
Jon: No. Pete never said yes to Yes, you’re thinking Peter Banks. Pete Townsend said yes to the Who.
Interviewer: So, who asked you?
Jon: Yes.
Interviewer: The Who?
Jon: Yes, but not the Who, the who asked about Yes.
Interviewer: So, Yes, not the Who.
Jon: Yes.
Interviewer: So if the Who asked you to join, would you say yes?
Jon: Yes, but not to Yes, to the Who.
Interviewer: So you’d say yes to The Who, but not Yes.
Jon: Unless Yes says yes, in which case it’s no to Yes.
